It was a Sunday and I wanted to visit inside but no one answered my calls so I was only able to see outside.

The most beautiful synagogue of the Lower East side. Welcoming atmosphere & peaceful place to pray on Shabbat.

As much as the facade of the Shul looks beautiful the people are not. Very white, upper middle class, judgmental, spread Lashon hara (gossip) constantly. Where you sit in the temple depends on how much you pay, with unreasonable membership fees. The downstairs needs major repairs and is not accessible to people with disabilities. Discriminatory towards lgbtq, black, and non Orthodox Jews / gentiles.
