Wonderful, devout, family-friendly Russian-speaking community of all ages. You couldn’t ask to meet a better group of Jews. Kind, outgoing, and loyal people who are a pleasure to be around.
Some people are still waters who run deep. Rav Baruch Cohen is a lively, humorous Rabbi who is still and thoughtful underneath that humor and runs deep below that — a three-layer cake. The shul has an active women’s section on Shabbat. Frequent functions. With the outbreak of COVID-19, some restrictions have unfortunately been necessary.
TWO IMPORTANT CAVEATS: 1) The synagogue is geared towards Russian-speaking Jews. To get the most out of the experience, some conversational knowledge of the language is a big plus. 2) Although the shul is child-friendly as well as generally friendly, the davvening is serious and talking is strictly forbidden during prayer. Best to bring kids to shul who know how to conduct themselves or to attend to them carefully.
